After duly opening the conclave the Supreme Ruler immediately asked that the brethren rise and pay a silent tribute in memoriam for the passing of:

Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11
The Supreme Ruler then offered the gavel of the lodge to R.Wy Bro Terence Vincent Maybury Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler as was his right; though as expected this was politely refused with the comment that the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler “didn’t want to take the expected plaudits away from Wy Bro Knight!”

Following the general business of the conclave, the brethren enjoyed a faultless ceremony of Installation as the new Supreme Ruler was installed into the chair of the conclave by Wy Bro David Knight in a very dignified and sincere manner.

Director of Ceremonies Wy Bro Mike Hamilton then ensured continued compliance as the meeting reverted back to the business highlighted on the summons.

Following his installation, the Supreme Ruler had a very pleasant task to complete as he presented cheques on the Conclaves behalf to the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler who announced that the following charities were to benefit from the conclave’s generosity:

  • St Rocco’s Hospice - £100
  • Warrington Masonic Hall - £100
  • Warrington Foodbank Appeal - £100

The brethren then retired to the festive board to enjoy a superb meal of:
1st Course – Chicken & Ham Vol Au Vents
2nd Course – Braised Steak with chips and seasonal vegetable
3rd Course – crème brûlée

Following the meal, the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler responded to the toast where her congratulated the conclave on a wonderful ceremony and on how much he was impressed by the detail reported during the Muster Roll and the comments of the Visiting Deacons relating to absent brethren; all of whom had been contacted by a conclave member.

The Supreme Rulers response allowed him to report “That he was also impressed by the impeccable manner in which he had been installed and by the hard work of the conclave in putting the ceremony together, and that he hoped once he relinquished the chair in a number of other orders over the next few weeks he would then be able to ensure that Warrington Conclave would continue to thrive under his rule”

During the festive board; a raffle raised £65 which when added to the charity collection will be allocated for future distribution towards worthy charities
This ceremony highlighted that Warrington Conclave and the Order of Secret Monitor continues to uphold its tradition for being one of the friendliest of orders and is certainly an order that prospective candidates should consider if they are looking to further their masonic involvement.
